EPCOR’s vegetation management program follows a planned maintenance cycle to proactively manage tree growth near electrical infrastructure. In 2026, Creemore and Stayner are due for service from February to December 2026, phased by neighbourhood to minimize disruption.
Vegetation growing too close to overhead power lines is a leading cause of power interruptions and can pose safety risks to the public and utility crews. Completing this work supports compliance with Ontario Energy Board requirements and helps reduce outage risks during storms and periods of high demand. Vegetation management activities may include:
- Pruning trees and vegetation near power lines.
- Removing brush or limbs that pose safety or reliability risks.
- Accessing private property only where required, and with advance notification.
Work will not include:
- Unnecessary tree removal.
- Routine landscaping beyond electrical clearance.
Work will be carried out by qualified vegetation management contractor, Kodiak Tree Services, working on behalf of EPCOR. Crews will be clearly identified and will follow all safety, environmental, and municipal standards.
