The Township of Clearview is excited to have received up to $35 million of Housing-Enabling Water Systems funding from the Province of Ontario on January 29th, 2025. This grant will help fund the construction of a new water source for the Township of Clearview and the Community of Stayner. The Township has also been able to work with some Stayner Developers to fund the remaining cost of the project.
In March of 2023, the Township notified all landowners within the Stayner settlement area that the Stayner municipal drinking water supply had reached its current available capacity. While this funding announcement will bring additional water capacity to the Community of Stayner in the near future, the existing water system remains at capacity and therefore no water units can be issued for land development; including infill development, accessory dwellings, etc. that require additional water allocation that has not already been secured.
