I am pleased to present the 2026 Clearview Township Budget. After many special council meetings and the public meeting to hear from the residents of our great community, today, I’ve issued the 2026 Mayor’s Budget with a blended tax increase of 2.09%.
As outlined in my Mayoral Decision dated August 11, 2025, I decided to continue the same budget process used in previous years to develop the 2026 Budget. Under this process, staff were able to propose department budgets over two workshop dates – November 17th and 18th. These workshops provided the opportunity for Council to ask questions, review community needs, and propose changes to the Budget before the public meeting held at the December 8th Council Meeting. It was great to see that the public was engaged in the process through both written and in-person comments & questions during the Public Meeting. Council made further amendments after hearing from the public before the Budget was passed back to me for consideration.
The 2026 Clearview Township Budget is the first budget under the Province’s Strong Mayor Powers. With these powers, as Mayor, I value the contributions of staff, the public and, as always, our collaborative and thoughtful council members in developing a budget that is not only fiscally responsible but also addresses the current needs and future of the Township.
This budget is the result of careful planning and collaboration with our staff, council members, and citizens. Our goal is to keep tax impacts modest while ensuring Clearview Township is prepared for future challenges and continues to deliver the high-quality services residents expect.
It is important to Council and me to have a budget that provides the means to continue Clearview’s progress through development and infrastructure needs, modernization, economic development, and quality of life.
In the January 12th staff report, 2026 Mayor’s Presented Budget Summary, you will find several capital projects that invest in the future of our municipality and create room for us to grow.
I look forward to working with members of council and our community as we continue to build Clearview Township in 2026 and beyond.
