On July 26th Clearview raised the Intersex Progress Pride flag at the Emergency Hub and Fire Administration Centre in recognition of Fierté Simcoe Pride’s Pride season from July 25 to August 7, 2022.
Mayor Doug Measures is proud of our caring and inclusive community, “I was pleased that council unanimously supported the flying of the Pride Flag in our community. Clearview is a caring and inclusive community that we can all celebrate.”
The theme for 2022, "Progress and Pride", highlights the progress and acceptance but recognizes that the 2SLGBTQIA+ community stands together in the wake of social injustices.
CAO John Ferguson, Mayor Doug Measures, Councillor John Broderick, Acting Fire Chief Scott Davison and Fire Administrative Assistant Sandra Doyle joined Fierté Simcoe Pride Representatives Chair Caleb Kenehan, Christian Kenehan and President Colin Nelthorpe to raise the Intersex Progress Pride flag.
A local not-for-profit, Fierté Simcoe Pride organizes year-round activities, including the annual Pride Festival, for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, and allied community of Simcoe County.
