Clearview Township is currently seeking one (1) seasonal part-time (24 hours per week) Recreation Maintenance for the period of approximately September 21, 2026, to April 30, 2027. This is a unionized position within the CUPE Bargaining Unit.
The location of work varies based on the needs of the Township; however, the Seasonal Recreation Maintenance may be assigned to work at the Creemore and Stayner Arenas. The Creemore Arena is located at 220 Collingwood Street, Creemore, and the Stayner Arena is located at 269 Regina Street, Stayner.

Key Accountabilities:
Reporting to the Supervisor of Maintenance, Parks and Recreation, the Seasonal Recreation Maintenance is responsible for providing operational and maintenance services to Clearview Township’s municipal facilities to ensure that all parks, recreation facilities, municipal buildings, and equipment are kept to a high standard of operational effectiveness and efficiency. The preferred candidate will possess a strong working knowledge of building maintenance, operation, and repair practices and procedures, as well as the ability to deal with the public in a courteous and professional manner.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Grade 12 education with two (2) years of demonstrated progressive municipal experience or any combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability and knowledge to operate an Ice Resurfacer.
- Knowledge of standard hand and power tools and equipment used in facilities maintenance activities, and the ability to operate such safely and effectively.
- Knowledge of safety standards and precautions for using tools and safe work practices.
- Ability to understand, read, and follow written and oral instructions.
- Ability to perform heavy manual labour, including bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting heavy objects.
- Physical strength and ability sufficient to meet job requirements for extended periods under uncomfortable conditions in all types of weather.
- Ability to climb on ladders.
- Current certification in Standard First Aid, CPR “C” with AED, and WHMIS.
- Related training in arena refrigeration process, ice maintenance, pools, and parks operations (Class B Refrigeration Certificate, Pool Operator Certificate preferred) is an asset.

Wage Rate:
Currently: $29.33 per hour (2026), plus 4% vacation pay.
