The Joint Compliance Audit Committee is responsible for reviewing compliance audit applications submitted by an elector who believes on reasonable grounds that a candidate or third party advertiser has contravened the provisions of the Municipal Elections Act relating to campaign or advertising finances.
Section 88.37 of Municipal Elections Act (MEA) requires all municipalities and local boards to establish a compliance audit committee. In accordance with the MEA, the Compliance Audit Committee is comprised of no less than three (3) and not more than seven (7) members.
For Municipal Elections, the Township is part of a Joint Compliance Audit Committee with the County of Simcoe and member municipalities. More information can be found on the County's website
