A Tax Certificate is a legal document that includes information such as legal, description, current installments, arrears and local improvements, if any. Tax Certificates confirm property tax balances and are usually ordered prior to a sale, purchase or refinancing of a property.
- The Township will electronically provide to your office within 1 business day from received request and payment, for a fee of $100.00 per roll number.
- If you wish to receive electronically the tax certificate with the regular 5-7 business days, the standard $75.00 fee applies.
- Please note that we do not provide verbal tax information.
- Fax or email copies of requests will not be processed until such time as payment is received. Please note that "verbal updates" for issued tax certificates may be provided for 30 days following certification date.
A Water Certificate reflects the balance on the water account as of the date on the certificate. This balance does not include the final billing amount.
- If the closing date for the sale of a property changes from what was recorded on the original certificate, an email must be sent to tax@clearview.ca.
- Water accounts are currently being finalized based on the date on the certificate unless we are informed of the change in the closing date prior to the account being finalized.
- Contact the Tax department after the closing date for the final balance on the account.
To electronically request a water certificate or a property tax certificate under Section 352(1) of the Municipal Act S.O. 2001 C. 25, please fill out and submit this form. Payment in accordance with the fees below will also need to be submitted. The fees to request a certificate are listed below.

A tax certificate can take up to five business days to process from the date of receipt of the request. We will mail/email your tax certificate after processing your request.
