The Township of Clearview has initiated a review of the Official Plan and will hold a Public Meeting pursuant to Section 26 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.P.13, as amended. The Township is seeking public input to this important planning initiative.

What is an Official Plan?
The Official Plan is a statement of goals, objectives and policies to guide future growth, land use and development within the Township of Clearview for the next 20 years and beyond. The Township’s current Official Plan has been in effect since September 2001 and has a twenty-year planning period to the year 2021. The purpose of the current review is to establish a renewed long-term community perspective. Through this review, a new Official Plan will be prepared to replace the 2001 Official Plan and related amendments.
Why are we reviewing our Official Plan?
The Provincial Planning Act requires municipalities to review their Official Plans every five years, or ten years after a new Official Plan comes into effect, to ensure conformity with Provincial plans, policies and matters of Provincial interest. The Official Plan Review is a Township-wide initiative, affecting all land within the Township of Clearview. GSP Group Inc. has been retained by the Township to assist Staff with the process.
Why your feedback is important:
The purpose of the Public Meeting is to provide members of the public with information about the Official Plan Review process and how to participate. This is also an initial opportunity for public input to areas of the current Official Plan that should be changed or addressed differently in the new Official Plan, and to participate in shaping the future vision and direction for the Township of Clearview. There will be a number of other opportunities to participate in this process. The Township will be reaching out to stakeholder groups throughout the process.
Anyone wishing to address Council with respect to the Official Plan Review will be given an opportunity to do so at the Public Meeting. You may provide written comments to Council up until the time of the Public Meeting. Additional opportunities to submit comments will be made available through the process. If you are submitting letters, e-mails, faxes, presentations or other communications to the Township concerning the Official Plan Review, please be aware that your name and comments to the Township will become part of the public record. The Township will also make your communication and any personal information in it available to the public, unless you expressly request the Township to remove it.
