Clearview Council Seeks Public Opinion on Recreational Cannabis

Community Consultation called for January 7th

CLEARVIEW, ON December 20, 2018 – Mayor Doug Measures and Clearview Council invite the public to participate in a community consultation on recreational cannabis at the January 7th Council Meeting. Public consultation begins at 6:30 PM at the Clearview Administration Centre Council Chambers, 217 Gideon Street in Stayner.

Council would like members of the public to contribute their opinions on whether the Township of Clearview should opt in or opt out of permitting cannabis retail stores in the community.

“Council is keenly interested to hear opinions from the public on the question of cannabis retail and its potential impact on our community,” said Mayor Doug Measures.

The province has given municipalities until Jan. 22, 2019 to opt out of having retail cannabis storefronts operate within their boundaries.

All members of the public are invited to attend on January 7th, 2019 a 6:30 PM. For those unable to attend in person, please submit your comments in writing to askthemayor@clearview.ca.
