Rogers Communications experienced a brief power outage this afternoon. The outage affected areas across the entire province. During this time, voters may have experienced a busy signal or a network announcement when they telephoned to vote. This was not an issue with the voting system, but with the Rogers Network. The power outage has now been resolved.
Rogers Communications is currently experiencing a provide wide outage. This may affect local Rogers internet and phone services. The municipal election phone voting service is run on the Rogers Network. Due to the outage, a voter will likely hear the busy signal or a network announcement, etc. The Township through its voting provider is in touch with Rogers and will advise once the situation has been resolved. This is not an issue with the voting system, but with the Rogers Network. The internet portion of the system is not affected by this outage.
