Clearview Township is the successful recipient of $17,245.00 in Experience Ontario 2024 funding, provided by the Government of Ontario. The funding will support the Small Halls Festival 10th Anniversary Celebration Concerts this upcoming September.
The aptly named Celebration Concerts are planned to commemorate and celebrate 10 years of the Small Halls Festival. First hosted in 2014 to showcase the beloved 'Small Halls' (community centres) at the heart of the hamlets and villages in Clearview Township, the Festival was named Ontario's Best New Festival in 2015 and since 2017, has been listed on the Top 100 Festivals in Ontario by Festivals & Events Ontario.
Mayor Doug Measures is thrilled that the funding will help the festival reach a wider audience, “The success that the Small Halls Festival has achieved this past 10 years is a testament to the strength of the Clearview community. We are proud that the festival experience brings together volunteers, residents and visitors and look forward to showcasing our “Small Halls” to a wider audience with this Experience Ontario funding.”
The Small Halls Festival Celebration Concerts will take place from Thursday, September 26th to Sunday, September 29th with featured headliners performing at four of the Small Halls on one weekend:
- Thursday, September 26 - Roger Harvey, Nottawa Memorial Community Centre
- Friday, September 27 - My Son the Hurricane, The Duntroon Hall
- Saturday, September 28 - Danny Michel, Station on the Green
- Sunday, September 29 - Sonshine & Broccoli, Sunnidale Corners Hall
Community, Culture and Tourism Coordinator Amanda Murray is excited to use the funding to bring in some amazing performers, “With funding provided by the Government of Ontario, we are excited to showcase a diverse range of performers for the Celebration Concerts. With this line-up, we expect sold-out shows to welcome many visitors to Clearview Township!”
