News Release - Clearview Receives $77,000 COVID-19 Operating Grant in Phase Two of Federal-Provincial Safe Restart Agreement

On December 16, 2020, the Ontario Government announced that phase two of the federal-provincial Safe Restart Agreement emergency funding is being released to all Ontario municipalities as COVID-19 operating pressures continue.

In a letter from the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Funding, Steve Clark to Clearview Mayor Doug Measures it was announced that Clearview Township will receive a payment of $77,000 to address continued COVID-19 operating costs and pressures, as well as up to $36,225 in support of Clearview Public Transit.

The funds have been allocated based on the proportion of COVID-19 cases in the municipality’s health unit and the number of households within the municipality. As with phase one, detailed reporting on how the funds are used is to be provided to the Ontario Government in March 2021. 

Mayor Measures is thankful for the continued assistance, “the partnership of the provincial government in our battle against COVID-19 is encouraging. This continued financial assistance will help support our community during these challenging times”.
