News Release - Clearview Public Transit COVID-19 Service Impacts

Date Published:
March 26 2020

In response to the COVID-19 Provincial Emergency, Clearview Council voted to implement temporary changes to the Clearview Public Transit system to ensure residents using the system adhere to the advice from medical professionals on social distancing.

Effective immediately Clearview Public Transit Route 1, the Stayner Route, will operate on Sunday hours of 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, 7 days a week and Route 2, the Creemore Route, will be discontinued until further notice.

To maintain social distancing Clearview Transit will offer free ridership on Route 1 effective immediately until further notice. We continue to monitor the situation and will reassess our Transit service levels on the advice of the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit and the direction of the County of Simcoe.

We are reminding riders to only use transit if absolutely necessary for groceries, medical appointments or to go to work if you are an essential service and can’t work from home.
