From Sunday, October 6th to Saturday, October 12th, during Fire Prevention Week 2024, Clearview Fire and Emergency Services will conduct their annual Alarms for Life Campaign.
The timing of the annual Alarms for Life Campaign couldn’t be better as the goal of Fire Prevention Week this year is to educate about the importance of having working smoke alarms in your home, “Smoke alarms: Make them work for you!™”.
Uniformed Clearview Firefighters will be going door-to-door in certain areas to speak with residents about smoke and carbon monoxide alarm requirements. Residents will also be offered a voluntary inspection of in-home alarm systems as a bonus if they would like.
After prevention, maintaining working smoke and carbon monoxide (CO) alarms in your home and outside all sleeping areas is one of the best ways to ensure fire safety at home and keep your loved ones and valued possessions safe.
The annual campaign began over a decade ago and aims to visit 250-300 Clearview homes this year. To read more about Fire Prevention Week and learn about smoke alarm safety tips and guidelines visit, www.nfpa.org/events/fire-prevention-week.
