Recognized diploma in a Law and Security Program and or Police Foundations with 3 years related experience including animal control. In addition, the Municipal Law Enforcement Officer Certification (MLEO) and Certified Property Standards Officer would be a definite asset. A valid driver’s licence is essential to this role.
Reporting to the Supervisor, By-Law, the Municipal Law Enforcement Officer participates in investigating inquiries regarding Township by-laws and regulations, enforcing Municipal parking by-laws, perform property standards enforcement and zoning enforcement concerns, perform animal control duties, as well as preparing detailed reports and recording keeping.
The preferred candidate will possess a thorough knowledge of applicable legislation, acts, statutes and regulations. As well, they must be able to exercise tact and diplomacy by working independently and as a part of an enforcement team
Experience and proven ability with enforcement, investigation and inspection practices and procedures as well as excellent analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, conflict management and communication skills are a must.
The salary range offered for this position is $54,399 to $66,120 per year plus a competitive benefits package.
