Please be advised that Carruthers Memorial Conservation Area in Avening will be closed from Monday, June 15, to Friday, June 26, to repair erosion scours.
Erosion scours are spots where fast-moving water has worn away the ground, creating holes which must be repaired before they can grow larger, damage nearby infrastructure, and create safety risks.
The Nottawasaga Conservation Authority (NVCA) river restoration staff and its contractors will be present in the park to complete the work during this time.
