Notice- Culture & Sports Hall of Fame Awards Ceremony

The inaugural Clearview Culture & Sports Hall of Fame Awards Ceremony was held on June 19th, 2018 at the Creemore Area & Community Centre.

The celebration highlighted the significance of culture and sports within the community and honoured individuals and groups who have made a positive impact on the sports and cultural community throughout the Township.

In total, seven awards were presented and over 90 people were in attendance. The categories, nominators and winners are listed below:
  • Young Leader in Culture: Emilie Que 
  • Athlete of the Year: Michelle Maizis 
  • Builder Award: William Paul “Siv” Carruthers 
  • Team Award: Stayner Siskins Junior D 1973 – 1977 
  • Community Volunteer Award: Tony denBok
  • Artist Achievement Award: Frieda Linke 
  • Festival & Event Award: Gathering of the Classics 
“The awards ceremony was a great opportunity to celebrate the importance and positive impact that culture and sports has had within our community” explained Mayor Christopher Vanderkruys. “This annual event will help showcase the hard work and dedication of exceptional individuals, teams and groups that have actively contributed to the overall success and vibrancy of Clearview Township”.

The Culture & Sports Hall of Fame award plaques will have a permanent location in the Stayner Community Centre once the renovations are complete.

Clearview Township would like to thank all the nominees, award winners and guests for their participation.
