Notice- Clearview Township awarded a Dutch-Canadian Friendship Tulip Garden
Clearview Township is delighted to be the recipient of a 70th Anniversary Dutch-Canadian Friendship Tulip Garden. The public planting ceremony will take place on October 23rd, 2015 at 10am and will be led by Stayner Collegiate Institute.
“I am pleased that Clearview Township has been granted the opportunity to participate in this Dutch-Canadian Friendship Tulip Garden”, explains Mayor Vanderkruys. “I would like to extend my gratitude to the Canadian Garden Council and Vesey’s Bulbs of PEI for the donation”.
The Tulip Gardens are being distributed across Canada in celebration of the first gift of Dutch tulip bulbs that were sent to Canadians in 1945 as a symbol of appreciation for the role Canadian soldiers played in the liberation of the Netherlands and the hospitality Canada provided to the Dutch Royal Family in Ottawa during WWII.
A public blooming ceremony will be scheduled in the spring.
