The 2016 Clearview Township budget has been passed with an estimated net tax increase of 1.7% or $48.89 to the average property valued at $258,340.

The budget is focused on a combination of maintaining and increasing service levels throughout the Township. Budget highlights include:
  • Comprehensive review of the Township Strategic Plan
  • Stage one of the Clearview Transit implementation plan
  • Continuation of the Small Halls Festival & other recreational programs
  • $1.2 million budgeted for upgrades and repairs to roads and sidewalks
  • Improvements to parks, trails, libraries and water/sewer services
  • Software to offer the online sale of burn permits
“I’m pleased to see that the budget was passed early in the New Year.” Explained Mayor Vanderkruys, “This momentum will allow for an early start to the 2016 projects that departments and staff have planned. Throughout the year, there will be a strong council and staff focus on increasing the use of online services and marketing for the Township to attract developers and to spark economic development.”

“I would also like to extend gratitude to the tax payers that contacted myself and other Council members with their opinions and feedback regarding the budget. We certainly welcome tax payer ideas and thoughts throughout the year for the planning of the 2017 budget; After all, this is your Clearview community.
